Benog Hill is a squat hill 2104 metres in elevation located 9 km west of Mussoorie. A small Jwalaji Temple dedicated to Goddess Durga is located at the top of this hill. The goddess Maa Durga in this temple is known to bless and grant the wishes of the devotees who come to seek true blessings. The beautiful view of the Aglar River valley is also an attraction for tourists. The Hill is bounded by dense forests. From the apex, one can see the magnificent snow-clad Himalayan Trekking Peaks, Doon Valley, and Yamuna Valley. The northern side of the peak is densely forested and houses the now almost extinct ghoral (mountain goat). A large number of devotees visit the shrine during Navratri. During the day of Ashtami, many devotees visit this temple for its religious significance.
