Kalanag or ‘black peak’ which rises to a height of 6387 m is one of the major peaks in the Bunderpunch mountain range. It means ‘black Cobra’.It is situated close to the Runsara valley. The summit of the peak resembles the head of a black cobra. It probably derives its religious significance from its resemblance to the cobra winch is widely revered by the Hindus.
