In Religion and Mythology​

It is sacred to Lord Shiva and offered to the deity.

Decoction of the bark is used to alleviate stomach and rheumatic pains. The juice of the flower is used for the treatment of sore eyes and various skin diseases. The wood is used in the manufacture of perfume and incense.

The tree is widely grown for its ornamental value.
