Narangarh Cave

In Narangarh, a village near Tapang railway station in Khurda district, there is an ancient cave on the top of a small hill. The cave facing the east is about 7 feet wide at the base. The height of the ceiling is about 3 feet.  The cave contains six inscriptions of different periods spanning from the 1st century A.D. to the 16th century A.D. There are no sculptures on the walls except for a few crudely designed figures which are spoiled in course of time. On the floor of the cave, one can see some crude designs including two footprints. The cave seems to have been a centre of religious activities for many centuries.
