Gorcha cave, which is also known as Byar Odar cave is a naturally formed cave located near Gorcha village in the Chakrata region of Dehradun district of Uttarakhand. Gorcha village is a picturesque village nestled in the lap of the Shivalik mountain ranges and surrounded with beautiful flora and fauna, lovely apple orchards, traditional wooden houses, and lush greenery all around.

Gorcha cave is one of the biggest caves in the region and is situated just 3 km ahead of Gorcha village. It was discovered by some shepherds of the region. It is home to one of the tallest stalagmites in India.

The walls of the cave contain old drawings of Shivalings and other Hindus deities. There are many stone sculptures inside the cave whose exact date has not yet been established. There are also many rock formations inside the cave. One such rock formation is the tall stalagmite that has in its structure captured the climate records and its changes for over millions of years.

There are not concrete evidence stating the history of Gorcha cave. However, the local people believe that the cave is associated with the Pandavas as the Pandavas lived in that region of Jaunsar-Bawar for 13 years in exile. The local people revere the cave.
