Located about 10km from Deoghar on the way to Dhumka state are the Trikut Prahar hills. Trikuta Paravartha also known Triikuta Chal is a combination of three main peaks on a hill and is situated at 752.86m. The hill is the origin point of the river Mayurakshi and is the site of the famous Shiva temple which goes by the name of Trikutachal Mahadeva temple. It is also houses the altar of the Goddess Trishuli and cottage of the sage Dayananda.
The place becomes much sought after by travellers and pilgrims during the month of Shravan or the monsoon season when Lord Shiva is worshipped with wood apple leaves that are found in abundance on the hill. Thereby this place is also known as the Garden of Shiva, due to the abundance of wood apples.
On a height of 1000 ft. on one of the hills is an Ashram named “Trikutachal Ashram”. This Ashram now has been one of the most powerful spiritual places all over India and abroad.
